What does a truck dispatcher do?

A truck dispatcher finds loads for your truck, negotiates rates with freight brokers, handles rate confirmations and paperwork, and manages broker communication on your behalf.

How much does Sam Logistics Pro charge?

We charge 5% of the gross revenue per load for semi trucks and hotshots, and a flat $250/week for box trucks. There are no upfront fees, no setup costs, and no contracts.

Is there an upfront fee to get started?

No. Zero upfront payment. You pay only after we book your loads.

Do you require a contract?

No long-term contracts. You can cancel anytime without penalties.

What equipment types do you dispatch?

We dispatch dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, power only, box truck, and hotshot.

Do you dispatch for Canada?

Yes — we dispatch cross-border USA/Canada loads for carriers with the appropriate authority and insurance coverage.

Getting Started

What documents do I need?

You’ll need active MC authority, a Certificate of Insurance with $1M minimum liability, a W9 form, and a signed dispatch agreement. Most carriers are set up and running loads within 24–48 hours.

How quickly can I get my first load?

Most carriers receive their first load offer within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding.

Load Finding & Rate Negotiation

How do you find loads?

We use DAT, Truckstop, and direct broker relationships to find loads that pay above the spot average in your lanes.

How do you vet brokers before booking?

Every broker is checked on FMCSA SAFER before we book — we verify authority status and payment history.

Do you negotiate detention pay?

Yes — we negotiate detention pay, TONU fees, layover pay, and any other extras on every load.

Is there forced dispatch?

Never. You review every load offer and decide whether to accept.

Payments & Billing

When do I pay the dispatch fee?

For semi trucks on the 5% plan, the fee is applied per load booked. For box truck and hotshot on the $250/week flat rate, billing is weekly.
