Common hotshot freight includes oil field equipment, construction materials, agricultural parts, and any cargo that needs to move fast. Hotshot is often the fastest way to get into owner-operator trucking — a used F-350 and a gooseneck trailer costs significantly less than a semi setup, and you can operate without a CDL for loads under 26,000 lbs combined weight.
